Finnair

Finnair – the fast airline between Europe and Asia

Finnair in a nutshell

Welcome to the world of Finnair. Our strategic focus is on flights between Europe and Asia. We fly the straightest geographical route via Helsinki, so our flights are short and fast.

In 2008, Finnair carried over 8.2 million passengers. The cornerstones of our environmental operations are modern, low-emission fleet and the shortest routes between Europe and Asia.

Established in 1923, Finnair is one of the world’s longest continuously operating airlines. Finnair aims to become the airline of choice for quality and environmentally conscious air travellers on intercontinental flights in the Northern Hemisphere.

Route network

Finnair's intercontinental destinations in Asia include Seoul in South Korea; Delhi in India; Beijing, Shanghai and Hong Kong in China; Tokyo, Osaka and Nagoya in Japan and Bangkok in Thailand. In addition to these cities, we also fly to New York.

Our European route network offers several daily flights to all major European cities. We fly to more than 50 destinations in Europe. Timetables are planned to provide quick connections for Asian flights. With Finnair you travel smoothly from morning in Europe to morning in Asia.

Via Helsinki

Helsinki Airport has been planned especially for transfer traffic – it has been rated as one of the best transfer airports in Europe. Flying via Helsinki offers high flight frequency, with Finnair’s direct flights to ten Asian destinations.

In the compact terminal you can quickly and easily find your way to your connecting flight. Since everything is close by and in one terminal, it is easy to transfer or enjoy a short stop.

Flying via Helsinki is the shortest and fastest way between Europe and Asia. Thanks to Helsinki’s geographical location, short transit times at the airport and Finnair’s optimal timetables, you arrive in time for business and arrive home sooner.

Fleet

The Finnair fleet comprises 63 aircraft. Finnair has been conscientiously renewing its fleet for years, and now operates one of Europe's youngest and most eco-efficient narrow-body fleets.

During the current year, we will acquire a total of five new Airbus A330 aircraft. These modern Airbus aircraft represent the latest technology; their technical reliability, passenger comfort and fuel efficiency are first class.
